Sisyphus Brewing Opened Taproom

By M+E Staff

Sisyphus Brewing recently opened its taproom at 712 Ontario West, Minneapolis on July 11, 2014. The grand opening celebration offered the general public the first opportunity to sample the first four beers from the brewery.

Specifically designed to operate with a small two-barrel system, Sisyphus Brewing has no plans to wholesale or offer growler sales, making the taproom the only place to sample Sisyphus beers.

The taproom features a constantly rotating selection of beers of various styles. New beers are featured each week in a variety of styles to educate brew drinkers about a wide variety of styles, ingredients and techniques involved in craft beer.

A 100 seat theater that will host comedy and live music is in the works as the next phase for Sisyphus Brewing to accompany the 100 seat taproom.

“We are so inspired by the great variety of beers out there, and we can’t wait to share the best of what is out there with our customers,” said Samuel Harriman, founder of Sisyphus Brewing. “Our goal at Sisyphus Brewing is to take the experience we had touring the best taprooms in the country and replicate it under our roof. We think beer is a community experience, and we’re thrilled to be a part of the Minnesota beer community.”

Minnesota beer artists Adam Turman and Josh “Jawsh” Lemke collaboratively created a mural on the exterior wall of the building to make a name for Sisyphus Brewing facing the I-94/I-394 interchange.

The taproom is initially open every Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m. with additional days to follow.
