Great Plains Tech Boom is Driving Meetings to Fargo-Moorhead Area

It takes two whole states to keep up with a destination this lively: On one side of the northflowing Red River, there’s Fargo, North Dakota, and on the Minnesota side, there’s Moorhead. Together, they’re an urban powerhouse that’s shaking up many people’s views of the Great Plains region. The visitors’ bureau declares the area to be decidedly “north of normal,” and touts the hip, eclectic vibe that comes from being home to three colleges and the biggest Microsoft campus outside Redmond, Washington.

New National Food Experience Provides Food From 50 States

Flavored Nation, a new live experience that highlights the most iconic food from each of all 50 states, will be hosted at St. Louis' Dome at America's Center from Oct. 27-29. GateHouse Media, along with Richard Gore, will work together to produce this event for food-lovers across the nation. After conducting extensive research to identify each state's most iconic food, 12,000 attendees will be able to taste the 50 dishes all at one event.

Associations North, the association for associations in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, infused excitement, creativity and innovation into its one-day Meeting Planners Symposium on Nov. 9 at Hyatt Regency Minneapolis with its open layout, new room sets, quick 30-minute sessions, hub groups and more. Keynote speaker Tamara G. Kleinberg disrupted the status quo with her “Think Sideways” presentation that introduced new tools to and generate inventive ideas.
