Snow skiing is synonymous with the state of Minnesota. Ski resorts are everywhere. 5 Things to Know about the Hewing Hotel

The North Loop’s Hewing Hotel is officially open as of Nov. 17, 2016, occupying the historic Jackson Building. The 124-room luxury lifestyle hotel, an Aparium Hotel Group property, is unmistakably all-Minnesotan. There’s a lot of buzz going on around the hotel, the first in the neighborhood, but here are the must-knows you may not know yet:

The Kimpton Journeyman Hotel Captures Milwaukee

The Historic Third Ward has always been the darling of downtown Milwaukee, Wisc. A complementary mix of industrial and hip, the neighborhood—listed on the National Register of Historic Places—houses the highest concentration of art galleries and boasts landmarks like the Milwaukee Public Market. Its location, within walking distance to both the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan, is simply the icing on the cake.

Radically Different

Radisson RED is “fight[ing] the beige in the hotel industry,” as Richard Flores, vice president branding, Radisson & Radisson Red Hotels at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, put it. The new hotel concept, with a focus on local art, music and fashion, has completely reengineered and reimagined the traditional hotel design; it is completely redefining the experience from tangibles like aesthetic to intangibles like interaction between guests and staff.

Burger Burger at Mall of America Launches New Menu Items

Last week, I stopped at Burger Burger’s Mall of American location. The fast-casual restaurant launched a number of new menu items, including cheese curds, mac-and-cheese bites, new chicken sandwiches and more. Visiting was a must.

Upon walking in, I was shocked at how quiet it was despite being packed full of customers. A sign that the food is too good to maintain a conversation with someone while chomping down on their burgers.

It's Official: America Needs a Vacation

A recent study conducted by Allianz Travel Insurance, found that more than 170 million Americans haven’t taken a vacation in the last year. That’s more than half of the population—53 percent, to be exact!

However, this is down from last year when 56 percent of respondents noted they hadn't taken a vacation in the last year.
