Company Outings to Try This Summer

Summertime is the best time of the year to get out of the office and have fun with your coworkers. Studies have shown group outings reduce stress and improve office communication. The office can allow coworkers to bond to some extent, but having a summer company outing creates the perfect atmosphere for people to truly act like themselves and be genuine. Happy employees are always the most productive. Here are some fun outings to try this summer:

Minnesota Transportation Museum Offers a Mobile Event Venue

From the Minnesota Transportation Museum, The Jackson Street Roundhouse—built in 1907 by Jim Hills Great Northern Railroad—offers meeting and event planners a unique way to host an event. There is a $150 nonrefundable deposit to rent the classic bus; the price is $425 for the first three hours and $60 per hour beyond that point. While the Minnesota Transportation Museum does not offer catering or alcohol, groups are able to hire independent caterers and a licensed beverage server for their event.

New Venue Spotlight: Zio Modern Italian

On the third floor of Mall of America is Kaskaid Hospitality’s newest culinary venture, Zio Modern Italian, which opened December 2015. “Zio Italian has a welcoming atmosphere and is a space where families and friends can enjoy the authenticity of Italian food, wines and hospitality,” says Vittorio Renda, Zio Italian Brand Ambassador.

New Venue Spotlight: Loring Social

A Minneapolis staple with over 30 years in the culinary industry, D’Amico Catering will be opening a new property this March. Located adjacent to Loring Park, Loring Social features two main rooms for private events. The formal Waverly Room boasts beautiful views of the Basilica of Saint Mary, a refurbished terrazzo marble floor, oversized vintage elevator doors and glass sconces. It can host 165 people for a reception, 90 for a buffet and 110 for a plated dinner.

It's Time for Wine and Summertime

Are you looking for a breathtakingly beautiful place to enjoy a nice glass of wine this summer? Minnesota has a great collection of vineyards not more than an hour drive from the Twin Cities. The Minnesota wine industry has been steadily growing over the years and is thriving. Most vineyards in the state not only offer you the chance to taste and purchase their wines, they also offer stunning event spaces. Whether you are looking for something fun to do on a day off or a place to host your next event, a vineyard is the right place for you!

Brave New Workshop's Creative Outreach Brand Trains the Workforce to Think Differently

You’ll be remiss to pigeonhole Brave New Workshop as solely a comedy theater; BNW’s business scope is always adapting to change, providing inspired solutions based on need. “People won’t do their research on the whole company and they’ll say: The Brave New Workshop Theater does corporate workshops,” says John Sweeney, co-owner of Brave New Workshop. “That’s not true.” Sure, satirical and improvisational comedy theater is where BNW started.
