D'Amico Catering has introduced a food truck that complements their Bushel & Peck café. The truck will operate at various on-street locations near the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis, which houses the recently updated café.

Operating daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. through the end of October, the Bushel & Peck food truck offers burgers, plain or loaded fries, a brisket sandwich and a chili cheese dog. There is also a chicken, mango and avocado salad or a grain and vegetable bowl for diners seeking a light and healthy meal.

Hungry customers will also be able to catch the food truck at Minnesota Historical Society evening events and venues throughout the summer, including Nine Nights of Music at the Minnesota History Center on Tuesday nights in July and August, and Mill City Live at Mill City Museum on Wednesday nights in August as well as other community and private events around town.

The Bushel & Peck food truck will supplement our café operations, not only at Mill City Museum, but also at the Minnesota History Center and potentially at other historical properties for their high-traffic needs,” says Larry D’Amico, cofounder, D’Amico & Partners. “The food truck provides a quick, convenient and quality lunch option for Downtown East area residents, hotel guests, businesses, riverfront visitors, farmer’s market shoppers and others. It’s also an exciting new tool for D’Amico Catering that will provide our customers with another service option.”

Remote working has become mainstream with the continued presence of COVID-19. While many people have welcomed the new normal of working from home, others miss the separation of spaces, as many corporate offices have remained closed since March. Without the daily obligation to go into the office, professionals have the ability to travel more freely. Hotels across the country are creating “work from hotel” deals–a play on “work from home”–so people can explore new places while still fitting in their 9 to 5.  

 

Choosing a career in the event industry is not for the faint of heart. Let’s face it: Event planning is stressful. The last-minute changes, demands from clients and surmounting urgency of a quickly approaching event can make it difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

This fall, chef Jorge Guzman will open a new restaurant, Petite León, in the former Blackbird Cafe space in South Minneapolis. The restaurant will serve dishes with Mexican, Spanish, French, and American influences, that aim to be approachable, creative and delicious.
