The Colorado Springs area is home to popular attractions like Pikes Peak, U.S. Olympic Training Center and Garden of the Gods Park, but there are several lesser-known gems for groups to experience.

Paint Mines Park: Located on 750 acres of rolling plains in eastern Colorado Springs, this geological site offers a rare landscape, unique rock formations and rich history. Walk the 4 miles of trails to spot spires and hoodoos.

The Abbey: Originally built as a teaching facility for Benedictine monks, the four-story brick building completed in 1925 sits on 200 acres in Cañon City and is a serene location for meetings, celebrations and various events. Within walking distance is the tasting room of Winery at Holy Cross Abbey.

Miramont Castle: Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, this restored castle in Manitou Springs has original Victorian-style furnishings. Wind through the 30 rooms with a self-guided tour followed by an authentic tea or lunch in the Queen’s Parlour Tea Room. Live History at Rock

Ledge Ranch: Explore life as it was for the first settlers of the Colorado Springs region at this historic site. The West comes alive in the buildings carefully restored to their original appearance. Stop in the blacksmith shop, view work in the fields and enjoy special events and festivals through the summer and fall.

Iron Springs Chateau: Experience true vaudeville and melodrama entertainment during a threecourse meal, and make sure to stay for the after-show singalong. The longtime landmark is located at the base of the Pikes Peak Cog Railway in Manitou Springs.

Aventri, a leader in events management software (EMS), recently released ‘The Top 100 Meeting and Event Venues in the United States’ for 2019. The company took the ten top-rated meeting and event cities in the United States and picked the top ten venues in each area, compiling a list of 100 highly-regarded spaces.

The guide identifies the two most valuable factors in attendee satisfaction as venue location and activities in the host city, followed by capacity, uniqueness and proximity to local attractions.

Standing in the Emery's lobby, where live greenery thrives and natural light streams in, it's hard to believe that this used to be Hotel Minneapolis. Emery is still an Autograph Collection hotel, like Hotel Minneapolis was, but it is, for all intents and purposes, a new, not just renovated, hotel.

With the NCAA Final Four tournament coming to Minneapolis, there's an abundance of events, activities and places that all visitors and Bold North natives alike will want to check out.
