Global Spectrum, the facility managers of Historic Boardwalk Hall and the Atlantic City Convention Center, revealed increased progress for both venues during the organization’s first full year of management.

According to Fran Rodowicz, general manager, the company increased the amount of activity, created new affordable labor agreements, improve the technology infrastructure, raised customer service scores and more. Global Spectrum took over the facilities, owned by Casino Reinvestment Development Authority on Jan. 1, 2014.  

“By collaborating with our client CRDA—and local partners ACA and Meet AC—we were able to increase business for both venues and for the Atlantic City region,” says Rodowicz.

Highlights of the company’s first year include:

  • An increase in business at both facilities
  • New labor agreements with unions
  • Smart City, Global Spectrum’s partner, introduced technology and communications that improved the facilities’ infrastructure
  • Improved customer service scores
  • Raised money for nonprofits within the community
  • Created a new website
  • Increased group sales by 101 percent
  • Reached a client return rate of 65 percent.

Global Spectrum is expected to host more concerts at Boardwalk Hall during the first quarter of 2015 than in any other year sine the renovation in 2002.

“We are certainly very pleased with the professionalism, expertise and impressive results that Global Spectrum has produced for us this year,” says John Palmieri, CRDA executive director.  “I am excited for all of the wonderful events that are coming to Atlantic City in 2015 as our partners at Global Spectrum continue to market our two state-of-the-art facilities.”

On Monday, Nov. 4, Zen Box Izakaya and Lowry Hill Meats are partnering for a Butcher x Ramen Popup from 5-9 p.m. at Lowry Hill Meats. Featuring Japanese comfort food like barnyard ramen and fiery bird ramen, as well as fine cuts of meat like smoked pork brisket and smoked chicken leg, the Butcher x Ramen Popup will offer the best of these Minneapolis food scene icons.

 

Tattersall Distilling reveals its first event space, Clover Club. Adjacent to the original Tattersall building, Clover Club is a 7,000-square-foot with 2,400 square feet used as the event space and the rest dedicated to barrel storage.

 

Hotel Emery and Fleur de Lis are teaming up for a Brunch, Blooms and Bottomless Bubbly event on Sunday, Oct. 20. The event will include a family-style brunch from Emery's restaurant Giulia and executive chef  Josh Hedquist and a floral design session instructed by Fleur de Lis experts.
