On June 20, Meetings Professionals International revealed the winners of 2017's Recognizing Industry Success and Excellence Awards. The winners of the meeting and events industry were announced at MPI's 2017 World Education Congress in Las Vegas, and were celebrated at the MPI RISE Awards Presentation and Luncheon. The RISE Awards categories are split by community and individual achievement, with the seven awards focusing on innovation, impact and influence in the meetings and events industry, and global transferability.

1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role as the vice president of marketing and global meeting services?
Meeting Professionals International recently introduced MPI Academy, an institute providing learning opportunities for business professionals at all levels. These include training courses, webinars, certificate programs and tools for career development such as the MPI Professional Development Roadmap, which allows individuals to map out their success in order to plan their future career.
Exciting times are ahead with Meeting Professionals International’s annual World Education Congress in August.
The event is slated for Aug. 1–Aug. 4., and while that seems ages away, the time is sure to come quickly; summer—as it always does—will fly by.
