1. The building that is now the AAA Four Diamond-rated Kimpton Grand Hotel Minneapolis was originally constructed in 1915 as the Minneapolis Athletic Club—a high-end athletic and business club. The Grand Hotel opened in 2000 after a major renovation, and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants took over management in 2010 and underwent a full renovation that completed in 2011.

Minneapolis' premier luxury hotel, Hotel Ivy, is partnering with TREVLS, a Tesla car rental company, the first partnership of its kind in North America.
Guests will have the opportunity to reserve a Model S or X during their stay. TREVLS will pick-up and deliver the choice of Tesla to Hotel Ivy.
Graves Hospitality has proposed plans for a future development on the current site that will necessitate the immediate closing of Bradstreet Craftshouse in Minneapolis.
The restuarant opened in 2009 in the downtown Minneapolis Graves 601 Hotel. In 2014, Graves Hospitality sold the hotel and the Bradstreet concept was moved to the Lowry Hill neighborhood of Minneapolis. It opened again in 2015. In approximately 14 months, Bradstreet will open within the InterContinental Hotel, which will be directly connected by skyway to Terminal One of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport.

D'Amico Catering has officially opened Bushel & Peck, the Mill City Museum's new cafe.
An approachble lunch menu, new weekend brunch, and wine and beer options round out the menu. Later this spring, the cafe will fill with fully updated décor; a food truck also is in the works.
The historic Machine Shop has returned in full force as one of the hottest venues in the city. Originally built in 1916, the building was originally used a machinery shop for the Pillsbury A-Mill. Now, it’s an industrial-chic event space as of July 2016. “The building has been carefully restored, keeping the surviving original 1916 architectural details intact,” says Stephanie Guidera, director of sales and marketing.
Two Minneapolis hotels are offering new programs to get guests’ creativity flowing and legs moving.
Samson Desta, a room service attendant for the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, was awarded the Hospitality Hero award by Meet Minneapolis Convention and Visitors Association. The award is given out quarterly to members of the Minneapolis hospitality community who are nominated by their colleagues.
“Desta embodies authentic hospitality and is a great ambassador for Hyatt and for Minneapolis," says Vince Vito, director of sales and marketing.
