Attendees are late to book their flight; change their inbound flight without letting you know; have personal preferences as to how early they want to be at the airport for a departure—and they don’t always communicate these changes and preferences to us. "I live and breathe in the meeting world," says Jen Ruthig, CMP, a senior strategic event planner at Land O’Lakes and MPI Minnesota Chapter’s president-elect.
Though her educational background and early professional experience were in marketing, Ruthig discovered her penchant for meetings and events after being hired at The Mosaic Company in Plymouth, where she would remain for 11 years. As the company grew, so did its need for meetings and events, and Ruthig carved out a niche for herself.
MNM+E’s 15th annual Best of Minnesota brought 260 meeting and event professionals to Solar Arts by Chowgirls on April 6 to honor award winners and Hall of Famers. Guests indulged in fantastic food from Chowgirls Killer Catering, themed sweets from Mintahoe Catering & Events, and beer from Indeed Brewery Company. Event Lab decked out the venue with its elegant décor, which comple - mented the industrial-chic space.
