Meeting Professionals International, the world’s largest meeting and event industry association, has announed an organizational realignment. This includes the introduction of new leadership positions, the reconstruction of teams and their roles, and realignment of management responsibilities, to improve the company’s long-term position.

“Our focus has been to increase member value and grow our community with the introduction of the MPI Academy and new educational offerings, the launch of our new membership and chapter infrastructure models, the acquisition of Plan Your Meetings, and other strategic initiatives,” says Paul Deventer, president/CEO, MPI.

Leadership appointments include:

Marianne Strobel - Senior vice president of marketing and community, a new hire with 25-plus years of strategic marketing and sales and communications.

Matthew Marcial, CAE, CMP - Vice president of education and events, MPI’s previous senior director of events.

Evan Casey - Vice president of sales, a new hire who previously served as senior director of business development for Plan Your Meetings.

Bernie Schraer - Vice president of revenue and channel development, a consultant for MPI for the past 18 months.

Victoria Lewis was recently hired as national sales manager at Visit Aurora in Colorado.
