Crafting experiences from the heart, Brian and Sarah Ingram, chefs and owners of Purpose Restaurants, built their brand from the universal truth that great things can happen over a shared meal.

“We are not just serving food, we are creating an experience through a meal,” says Brian.

With a portfolio consisting of Hope Breakfast Bar in St. Paul and St. Louis Park, and The Gnome in St. Paul, Purpose opened the latest addition, The Apostle Supper Club at The Radisson Hotel Duluth, on May 6.

The Apostle is a midcentury, Palm Springs-style restaurant on the 16th floor of the hotel. The joint serves up new American fare, vintage-inspired cocktails, and a rotating dining area with panoramic views of Lake Superior, the harbor, and downtown Duluth.

A second Apostle location featuring a piano bar and tiki lounge opened in downtown St. Paul in September, across from the Xcel Energy Center.

Some 35,000 people of Native American heritage call the Twin Cities home, and sites across the area have indigenous cultural roots.

Since winning the 2022 James Beard Best New Restaurant in the nation, Owamni by the Sioux Chef in Minneapolis has brought Native American cuisine to the forefront of fine dining in the eyes of foodies. It is one of many indigenous businesses in the Twin Cities.
