In response to last year's glowing feedback, the Kimpton Grand Hotel Minneapolis has decided to bring back "Pedal + Picnic with Chef Kris" every Sunday until the end of September, with a few blackout dates. Pedal + Picnic is an 11-mile morning bike tour of some of Minneapolis' most famous sites, stopping for a lovely picnic lunch - and maybe even mimosas, if you're lucky.
The excursion is available to guests of the Kimpton Grand Hotel Minneapolis who choose the Enhance Your Stay option, paying $25 (or $35 with mimosas). Guests do not have to worry about bringing their own bikes, as they are generously provided by the hotel.
Guests embarking on this 11-mile ride will stop at sites such as the Mill City Farmer's Market, where they can browse through several food trucks, purchase fresh produce, and view the beautiful Stone Arch Bridge, a National Historic Engineering Landmark. Other stops include the Walker Art Center's Sculpture Garden, where guests can view the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry sculpture; the Isles Bun Coffee Shop, and Lake of the Isles.
The lunch, prepared by Chef Kris, features a mix of many unique picnic options. These include fruit skewers with cantaloupe, pineapple, and honeydew; and antipasta skewers, with cheeses and cured meats. Other options include fresh cherry clafouti, artichokes crostinis, everything bagels with cream cheese and lox, Greek yogurt parfaits with fresh berries, grilled chicken salad with mixed greens, Asian slaw, and ginger Dressing. You won't find a more sophisticated picnic!
