VisitPITTSBURGH has developed a fun promotional campaign to get locals more involved with its “Pittsburgh. Mighty. Beautiful.” theme and tagline. The organization kicked-off the “Mighty. Beautiful.” campaign and contest at its Annual Meeting luncheon by asking attendees to think of a third word to describe the city, e.g. Mighty. Beautiful. Welcoming. Among the words being used to describe Pittsburgh were: Inspiring. Proud. Reinvented. Welcoming. Legendary. Innovative.

Canadian Show Gifts Audience Free Trip to Pittsburgh

Much like Oprah’s infamous reveal of free cars to those in her audience in 2004, Marilyn Denis—host of The Marilyn Denis Show—made an exciting announcement.

During her show—based in Canada—Denis explained she would give a Pittsburgh Getaway Package to all 75 audience members. Coordinated by VisitPittsburgh, the gift culminated Denis’ annual “10 Days of Giveaway” series.

Pirates Success Leads to Fiscal Success for Pittsburgh

While the Pittsburgh Pirates are done for the series, they did qualify for post-season play, and this qualification, likely led to a significant economic boost for the Pittsburgh area, according to Visit Pittsburgh and Pirates estimates.
