• Q&A: April Egloff, Teneo Hospitality Group Director of Sales Midwest

April Egloff was recently hired as the director of sales midwest for Teneo Hospitality Group.

1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role? 

Being able to offer these amazing properties and DMCs to my clients that I have worked with in the past and building new relationships in the industry. Teneo has the best portfolio of hotels, resorts and DMCs.

2. How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role? 

My favorite part of being in hotel sales all of these years has been establishing and maintaining relationships in the industry. I have helped my clients find a fit for meetings and retreats at the local level, and now there is so much potential with the range of product and locations around the world with Teneo.

3. How did you get into the industry? 

I realized in college when I joined the hospitality world as a banquet server/bartender that this industry was meant for me. I love making sure people are having a good time and enjoying themselves while traveling, dining out or attending an event.

4. What are you hoping to achieve in your new role? 

I am really looking forward to assisting my clients with the perfect setting for their events. With Teneo’s portfolio, there is the ideal match for what every client is looking for, and I will be the person to assist in finding it.

5. What do you enjoy most about the industry? 

People are enjoying different experiences, locations, cuisines and services with their travel. I get to be instrumental in helping them in their search to make it perfect.

The Bloomington Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) hosted the 23rd Annual Diamon Service Awards Gala on March 17 where 15 front line service personnel were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the hospitality industry. 

 

Leah Henderson was recently appointed pastry chef for D'Amico Catering. We caught up with her to learn more about her experiences in the industry... and her personal favorite sweet treats.

What are you looking forward to in your new role as pastry chef?

I’ve had the pleasure to work in fine dining for the past 25 years. Now, I’m excited to incorporate that level of perfection to elevate D’Amico Catering’s pastry program, especially at some of our more upscale venues and events.

 

Asha Hassan, a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Minneapolis-Downtown (Convention Center) has been named the “Hospitality Hero” award winner for the third quarter of 2018 by Meet Minneapolis, Convention and Visitors Association. This honor is for an individual or company that has made valuable contributions to the image and culture of Minneapolis through outstanding hospitality and service.
