Restaurant Recommendation: Worlds Collide at Avenida

  • Restaurant Recommendation: Worlds Collide at Avenida

    FROM THE Fall 2017 ISSUE

For lovers of BLVD, an American bar and grill in Minnetonka, locals may find a new love in Avenida, the Latin sister concept of BLVD. Complete with BLVD’s high-quality cuisine, Avenida graced the scene in late 2015 with a Mexican-Asian twist and the fusion of cultural flavors.

The Asian-inspired menu has few borders. Whether it’s potstickers, Kung Pao Chicken or Thai coconut soup, guests can experience a range of dishes from China, Japan, Thailand and more. The Mexican favorites are classic: tacos, burritos, fajitas and enchiladas. And its blend of flavors and styles mixes together two very different worlds, not to mention cooking techniques. From Peruvian-inspired Lomo Saltado and Chaufa to the Chicken Teriyaki Enchiladas, it’s a menu filled with diverse and one-of-a-kind options.

Located in Westridge Market, Avenida, which is Spanish for “Avenue,” brings a chic and cultural flare to the area. The space features a charming array of colors, patterns and textures from around the globe, making it stand out as not just a restaurant, but also an event space.

Avenida serves daily—anything from lunch to happy hour to Sunday brunch—and is available for full buyouts, partial buyouts, private dining and semiprivate dining. The private dining room accommodates 42 guests seated and 50 guests cocktail-style. The Atrium, its semiprivate space, accommodates 30 guests seated and 50 guests cocktail-style. Community West sits adjacent to the bar, and can accommodate 24 seated and 50 cocktail-style. Amenities include a 52-inch flat-screen TV as well as a private patio attached to the private dining room.
