• StageSpot Launches Online Custom Gobo Creator

StageSpot announced the launch of its online custom gobo creator.

The platform was designed for industry professionals and their clients. The creator gives users the ability to choose from more than 75 pre-made templates or to upload custom images and artwork, making the process quicker.

Gobo is an acronym for “Goes Before Optics.” A gobo is a disc made from steel, glass, or plastic used as a partial screen in front of a light.

“StageSpot designed this platform so that DJs, event planners and stage professionals can get the exact custom designs they need without the hassle they may have experienced in the past,” says Kevin Richie, co-founder of StageSpot. “While gobos have been widely used in our industry for decades, very few advancements have been made to simplify the ordering process.”

The gobo was created with the intent to modernize the process and avoid obstacles faced when ordering. The platform has eliminated time and costs of creating artwork to match particular specifications or hiring a graphic designer to complete the work. Users are able to create personal catalogs in order to easily personalize, save, share, modify, and re-order their own templates, again and again.

“We listened to our customers and created a user-friendly technology to allow them to create any design they could imagine, accurately and efficiently,” says Richie. “Now we’ve put the customer back in the driver’s seat to create what they need and want, without any room for error—which just happens to be from the comfort of their own laptop or desktop!”

The expansive Grand View Lodge is getting even bigger. Two-ish hours from Minneapolis, the resort is appealing to planners with its new hotel and conference center it’s planning as part of its $30 million expansion. The 60-room boutique hotel—simply called North—is situated to become the perfect venue for groups looking to escape the city.

 

After four generations of Ruttger family ownership, the historic Lake Bemidji resort is now under new ownership. Mark and Karrie Nelson purchased Ruttger’s Birchmont Lodge at the conclusion of the 2017/18 season and will be expanding the property into a year-round resort.

The couple, who bring ten years of experience from previous ownership of a family resort on Cass Lake, plan to re-brand Ruttger’s as an upscale, year-round family vacation destination and retreat venue.
