Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation and the Steamboat Grand Hotel has hired Jennifer Shea as their new sales director. In her new role, Shea will create and implement strategies for local, regional and national channels for tour operators, wholesalers, travel agents, properties and campaigns. She will also be in charge of pricing and products, overseeing conference programs and managing the sales team.

“Jenn’s strong background in sales and her in-depth knowledge of the Steamboat community and beyond make her an ideal addition to our sales and marketing team,” says Katie Brown, vice president of sales and marketing for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “We look forward to her fresh perspective, extensive sales background and hands-on attitude to build on the success of the sales and marketing teams at the resort and hotel.”

Shea has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and art history from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and has extensive experience in the industry. Before joining SSRC, Shea worked as the national sales manager for Honey Stinger Energy Foods. Additionally, she’s worked as a program manager for the Yampa Valley Community Foundation and a product manager for Time/Warner.

“Steamboat is a premier destination, and I am honored to be able to share my passion and excitement for the resort, hotel and town with guests from around the country,” says Shea. “The sales teams at the resort and hotel have done an incredible job positioning Steamboat as a world-class destination for groups and events. I’m thrilled to join their efforts and lead this dynamic team.”

For the past 10 years, she has lived in the Yampa Valley and has been an active member of the community. She served on the Steamboat Springs Chamber marketing committee and was on the board of directors for the 4Yellow Foundation. Now, she serves on the Family Development Center’s board of direction, volunteers for the New Frontiers for Girls and Women Event, is a troop leader for the Girl Scouts, and a member of Camber.

The Minnesota State Fair is essentially a red carpet event for Minnesotans. That is, if red carpet events include food that is either fried, on a stick, or both. To celebrate the great love that Minnesotans have for their state, Radisson Blu Mall of America is offering state fair-themed meetings.

The global health and wellness convention that put Minnesota on the map as a destination for medical meetings is coming back for round two this October.

Red Wing has, “a beautiful and quaint small river feel with a lot to do and a lot to see,” says Brittany O’Neill, director of sales and events for Red Wing Golf Course. “Red Wing provides a great change of scenery with something for everyone. Hiking, biking, shopping, dining and, of course, golf!”
