It had been more than 50 years since the shores of Lake Minnetonka have seen a hotel when downtown Wayzata decided it was ready to change that. The 92-room Hotel Landing has proven to be a popular destination for brides- and grooms-to-be, business travelers, high-end diners, and company parties. From its 4,200 square feet of meeting space to its Nordic-inspired spa, Hotel Landing is a Wayzata oasis for locals and out-of-towners alike.

The boutique hotel boasts a 601-square-foot boardroom in addition to its other popular meeting spaces: the 2,710-square-foot Wayzata Room and smaller meeting rooms A & B. Complete with Wi-Fi, A/V and munchies to keep your team fueled throughout the meeting, Hotel Landing's meeting spaces can suit any style or size of event.

When your group needs some down time, they won't have to look much further than the very hotel they're staying in. With a fitness center, spa and on-site bar and restaurant, Hotel Landing will keep your attendees fired up... or calmed down. The fitness center features treadmills, ellipticals, a spinning bike, a recumbent bike, Precor Functional Trainer, free weights, exercise mats and medicine balls. COCKTAILS

Bootlegger

This popular cocktail is reminiscent of a Moscow mule and a mojito. Vodka and gin mixed with mint, lemon, lime, soda and simple syrup make the perfect refresher after a long day in the boardroom.

Armadillo

You typically don't want to spot any armadillos in the middle of Minnesota, but this cocktail is definitely an exception. This rye whiskey drink has the perfect balance of smokey and fruity with its unexpected but appreciated grapefruit flavor. 

APPETIZERS

Charcuterie

If you're already ordering a bottle of wine, might as well just get the cheese plate, too, right? Charcuterie boards are never a bad idea, but ninetwentyfive takes it to an entirely different level. With sharp cheddar, blue cheese and a spreadable port wine cheese, the charcuterie is perfectly balanced with fresh fruit, pickled onions and a variety of meats.

PEI Mussels

Served with a chimichurri cream and white wine sauce, these mussels will have you doubting you aren't on an ocean coast. A perfect balance of tangy and citrusy, the PEI mussels are an easy appetizer to share with the table. 

ENTREES

Bacon Seared Scallops

What goes together better than bacon and seafood? The bacon seared scallops are combined with rainbow cauliflower, lardons and garlic herb bread crumbs in what can only be described as a culinary symphony.

Steelhead Trout

With a color and texture reminiscent of salmon, the steelhead trout is a must for all seafood lovers. Served with mint, arugula, carrot soubise, ravigote and pickled fennel on top of an asparagus and fava salad, this dish is a modern take on a classic.

Beef Tenderloin

If you're looking for a little comfort food, you can't go wrong with the beef tenderloin. From its side of crispy Brussels sprouts to the comforting gorgonzola chanterelle butter melted on top, this dish will leave you feeling full and happy.

DESSERT

S'mores Brownie

When you can't decide between a campfire s'mores and a decadent chocolate brownie, you shouldn't have to. The s'mores brownie incorporates everything you love about a brownie with everything your childhood self craved during the summer months. All the way down to the graham cracker crumbs, the love is in the details.

The Lab, a new type of taproom and beverage pilot facility, opened to the public on May 1. The BevSource creation is a combination of B2B and B2C, offering both a self-pour taproom for customers and an opportunity for local breweries to test new brews anonymously before selling at their own establishments. 

 

If you've ever gone to a brewery and thought the only thing missing was a dog peanut butter eating contest, you'll be glad to hear Loews Minneapolis Hotel and Kieran's Irish Pub will be hosting the second annual Pints for Pups fundraiser to benefit Safe Hands Rescue. From 4-8 p.m.
